EDUCATION

1998 - Diploma of the National School of Music (Havana), specialty “Trumpet”.

2003 - Diploma of the National School of Music (Havana) in the specialty "Piano" and "Pianist Accompanist".

He began to study music from the age of 10 at the National School of Music in the class “Trumpet”. Then he continued his studies in the specialty "Piano".

He studied trumpet training with teachers such as Alexander Abreu and he studied piano training with teachers, Elena Kopylova, Barbara Jaime, Pedro Pablo Iturralde, Patricio Malcolm, Huberal Herrera, Amado Tusa, Rosalia Capote and Gaspar Rodriguez.

He studied at the courses “Musical Composition” (teacher Juan Piñera), courses “Trends in Jazz” with the teacher Boby Caracacés.

 

ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES

WORK IN ORCHESTRAS AND GROUPS OF KUBAN MUSIC (SALSA) AS A MUSICIAN (PIANO, TRUMPET)

2002 - 2005 orchestra “Falide”, “Sabrosura Viva” and “Cole Colé”. Cuba.

2005 - 2006 orchestra “D´ La Caridad”. Cuba.

2009 - orchestra “Conjunto Casino”. Cuba.

2012 - group “Izquierdo Reservado” and “Sarabanda”. Cuba

2009 - Orchestra “Química Perfecta” (Beny Moré Company). Cuba

2013 - 2014 group “La Puesta de Sol” (Company Somavilla) in Hotel Riu Varadero. Cuba.

2014 - 2015 group “Habana Caliente” in the restaurant “Old Havana”, Moscow.

     

From 2016 Sandor Torres played on the stages in the club “Old Havana”, the club “Art Cafe Durov” with flamenco dancer Elena Shulgina; to the club “Igor Butman” with Anna Volkova (singer), Tono Alcalde (Spanish guitar player and vocalist) and Pavel Skornyakov (saxophonist), the Akademichesky club and the Andrey Makarevich club from his band Sandor´s Trio.

He also took part in his trio at the flamenco festival of Alena Shulgina, the festival of Viva España and Jam Session in the club “Andrei Makarevich” and “Ever Jazz”, Yekaterinburg with Tono Alcalde.

2009 - 2014 The Corpus Spiritu Alma Dance Company (director of Tangin Fong) as a pianist, composer and arranger.

2007 - 2014 National School of Ballet Havana, School of Professional Arts. Cuba.

2015 - 2017 School of Ballet in the Big City as accompanist.

 

PARTICIPATION IN FESTIVALS AND COMPETITIONS

1. 2016 - winner of international music competitions:

2. Competition for composers "Félix Guerrero" in Havana.

3. Competition "Ibero-American Choreographic" in Havana.

4. Competition for composers "2 di Agosto" (2009 and 2011 - Italy).

5. He participated in concerts with soprano Luci Povedo, as well as with Boby Carcacés, Jorge Triana (guitarist, composer, director) at the festival "Cuerda Viva" as part of Big Band 2006.

6. The festival Romerías de Mayo (2010 and 2012) together with the dance company Corpus Spiritu Alma.

7. Film Festival Joven ICAIC 2012. Participated as the author of the music for the film “The Drowned Woman”. In 2013, he also participated as the author of the music for the film “I Come to You” (director of the film Camila Caraballo).

8. Competition composers them. Maurice Raval in Bergamo (Italy 2015).

9. The festival "La noche flamenca" and "Viva España" in Moscow (Russia 2016).

AWARDS

2002 - a special award for the piece “Playing a Dream”. Félix Guerrero competition.

2006 - a special award for the performance of chamber music (the work "Emotional anxiety"). Félix Guerrero competition.

2008 - CIC 2008 finalist for “Emotional Emotion” (Ibero-American Choreography Competition). The National Ballet of Cuba choreographed this music. Choreographer Marta Iris Fernández).

2015 - semi-finalist of the International Competition. Maurice Ravel in Bergamo.
